Family of Caring at Teaneck is celebrating a second year of a successful partnership with SINAI Schools’ Vocational Preparedness Program, providing students with meaningful workplace experiences while supporting the day-to-day operations of the facility.
Through the partnership, SINAI students join the Family of Caring team each week, gaining valuable hands-on experience in a professional environment. Working alongside staff members, interacting with residents and their families, and contributing to important facility operations helps students develop practical job skills while building confidence and independence.
This year, students took on a variety of responsibilities throughout the facility. Nathaniel assisted with organizing medical supply closets and conducted room rounds to help ensure resident rooms were functioning properly and maintained to a high standard. Another student, Shloimy, worked closely with the maintenance department, helping support the daily operations that keep the building running smoothly.
“The Family of Caring at Teaneck is proud to celebrate its second consecutive year collaborating with the SINAI Schools Vocational Program,” said Yair Wasserman, Assistant Administrator at Family of Caring. “This partnership has been tremendously beneficial for both organizations. Our SINAI volunteers have become valued members of our team, and their dedication and hard work have made a positive impact throughout the facility.”
Family of Caring is one of dozens of businesses and organizations that partner with SINAI Shalem High Schools to provide students with authentic vocational training experiences. These placements allow students to strengthen workplace skills such as communication, organization, problem-solving, and teamwork while making meaningful contributions to the broader community.
