Maor High School

Maor High School, including the William Solomon Judaic Studies Program, serves college-bound students in Grades 9-12 with complex learning disabilities and/or social challenges such as high-functioning ASD and ADHD.

Maor offers a rigorous secular and Judaic education within a highly supportive, nurturing special education setting, providing individualized instruction to meet each student’s needs. Using the school-within-a-school model, Maor partners with and is integrated within Rae Kushner Yeshiva High School (RKYHS), located in Livingston, NJ.

At Maor, it’s not only about teaching in a way that our students best learn. We help them build executive functioning skills, and teach them how to become independent students who can keep track of their work and complete it independently. Our students learn to be comfortable with their challenges and proud of their strengths; how to identify and articulate their needs; and how to advocate for themselves.

All four years of high school at Maor build preparation for college and beyond. Following graduation, Maor students continue on to higher education and professional careers, often after spending a year of study in Israel or serving in the IDF.

Maor High School provides:

  • Small classes individualized to meet each student’s needs
  • Academic and social integration within Rae Kushner Yeshiva High School
  • In-house therapies, counseling, and support
  • Specialized preparation and guidance for gap year, college and post-high school education

I don’t know where M would be today without all of your guidance and support. Because of you he knows that he has to try even when something is hard for him, that he has to ask for help, and that it’s OK to fail. Your hard work has enabled him to grow into a self-confident young man. Thank you.
